If you were a subscriber back in the Blog About Nothing days you’ll know i’ve been championing Sullee J for a minute. Well since then he’s been doing everything in his power to get himself noticed, including opening up for both DMX and Maino at shows back in August.
The Pakistani-American rapper is now preparing for the release of his debut album, from which this Amar Azan produced track is the first single. Anyone who checked out the Sullee tracks I posted before will know what to expect here.
This guy makes music for the mind, not for the clubs, and this definitely fits that mould. The atmospheric beat meshes perfectly with the thought provoking rhymes as Sullee comments on the way that the war on terror has changed society’s views on an entire race.
The video complements the track nicely, with footage of Sullee reciting the track interspersed with acted scenes of a hostage being interrogated. Certainly adds something to have the actors mouthing the lyrics too.
