It’s always a risky move when rappers take on classic beats. People have preconceptions before hearing a track that it won’t be as good as the original, and others will just pass completely. Well Detroit spitter eLZhi is going one step further, and reworking Nas’ seminal album Illmatic. Here we’re treated to his take on track 2, but you’ll have to wait until May 10th to hear the entire project. Apparently the entire thing was recorded in a studio with live instruments, something that definitely comes across on this track.
